Biography
Josi and Poppi first crossed paths during their orientation at the Conservatorium of Newcastle, and it didn’t take long for their mutual love of music to spark a special connection. After sharing dreams of writing and performing their own songs, the duo that would become Chain Daisy was born, with hangouts that quickly turned into creative sessions filled with guitars and harmonies.
Chain Daisy, the alternative indie-folk group, based in Mulubinba (Newcastle) are seamlessly working their way up in the local music scene. Since their inception, Chain Daisy have graced iconic local venues such as The Oriental Hotel, performed at the 2024 New Annual Festival opening, as well as debuting Newcastle’s West Best Bloc Festival from 2022 to 2024. With a spellbinding blend of both alternative indie folk originals and reimagined covers, their enchanting harmonies and distinctive guitar lines create an unforgettable experience, leaving listeners mesmerized with every performance. Chain Daisy is truly a group that weaves magic through music. Their versatility to perform as a duo, trio, or full band enhances their appeal, allowing them to adapt seamlessly to a variety of venues and audiences while bringing dynamic energy to every show.
The girls aim to empower their audiences with their compositions inspired by themes of love, loss, hope, relationships and at the very most, truth. Chain Daisy hope their music inspires introspection to their audience’s own lives in a gentle and empowering tone.
As the inaugural recipients of the AHA Newcastle Hunter Paul Woseen Memorial Music Grant, Chain Daisy has been hard at work in the studio, preparing to release their debut single, Daisies. Josi and Poppi are beyond excited to share their music with the world, continuing to spread their light through song.
