Long Biography
Emerging Mulubinba (Newcastle) based neo-soul artist Nina Romeru is taking on the Australian music scene. Nina’s soulful vocals and background of classical training contribute to her gentle and emotive sound.
She has recently released a new single called ‘Locked Eyes’, a tense and beautiful breakup song that captures emotion, soul and heartbreak. Nina celebrated with a sold out, stripped back gig at Momo Wholefoods in the heart of the Newcastle CBD.
Nina has drawn inspiration from soul/indie artist YEBBA, neo-soul/pop artist Lianne La Havas, and new-age Australian experimental band Hiatus Kaiyote. Her work incorporates a blend of jazz, funk, and hip-hop.
With jazzy chords, catchy melodies and the sweetest of harmonies, Nina’s full band debuted at The Underground for her single launch on June 4th 2023. The event was sold out with 117 tickets sold and one ecstatic audience.
Nina is an introspective storyteller whose music will carry you on a journey of love, passion, heartache and the rollercoaster of life with strong themes of power and identity.
